Course Description:

This facilitation training course is targeted to those who wish to or are currently involved in facilitating small or large groups in formal or informal organisations. Participants will learn to facilitate in a more structured way, understand group dynamics and learn how to manage audience, learn how to deal with resistance and know how to intervene at the appropriate time.  Further, they will learn how to use facilitation tools, techniques and methods effectively in order to become successful in their facilitation activities.

Course Objectives:

  • Facilitate, promote, and accompany the learning process with the objective of empowering for and enabling social change
  • Enable dialogue among participants in social change
  • Model excellent listening, oral, written, and other communication skills
  • Understand and apply facilitation tools, techniques and methods in a structured way to achieve success.

  • Increased knowledge and practice of facilitation skills
  • Increased knowledge on how to enable dialogue among participants in social change
  • Increased understanding of how to model excellent listening, oral, written, and other communications
  • Increased understanding of how to use and apply facilitation tools, techniques and methods

 

Methodology:

Key training methods to be used in this workshop will include lectures, group discussion and presentations, hands-on exercises and case studies. Participants are encouraged to come with case studies on Facilitation Skills to share and to be used as material for practice.
